How Do You Install Toshiba Memory?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Memory can be installed in a Toshiba laptop by turning off the computer, disconnecting all the external cables, closing the display, turning the computer upside down, sliding the battery cover open, taking the battery pack from the computer and removing the three alignment screws which are located at the bottom near the front panel of the computer.

The next step is to return the computer to its normal position, open the display, remove the top cover, which is made of plastic, from the unit, lift the keyboard up, lift the keyboard off the unit and take care not to bend or break the flexible cable which connects the keyboard to the computer.

Once you have located the memory expansion slot on the system board, you must then install the memory module into the expansion slot. You must make sure the memory module is seated firmly in its connector. Once the process of installation is complete, the keyboard must be returned to original position and the front plastic cover must be replaced.

The display should be folded down, the unit should be turned upside down, the three alignment screws which are located on the bottom panel should be reinstalled, the battery pack should be replaced and the battery cover should be closed. The computer should be returned to its normal position, all external cables must be reconnected, the computer must be turned on and the system must be reconfigured so that it recognised the newly-installed memory.
