What About The Estrogen In Soy? Should I Be Concerned About My Little Girls?

Another fact worried me; since we became vegan we have been substituting a bunch of cheese and meat portions of our meals with soy based products. Soy milk, soy cheese, tofu for sauces, soy protein crumbles, soy yogurt...one of the reasons to go this route was to escape the hormones cows are given. I have 3 little girls and would like them to not to develop early...Now I have been told that there might be estrogen in soy products. Will I achieve the opposite with my endeavor? I cannot find a straight answer anywhere.

IT is hard to find answers to these questions.. Usually we only get the answers when a problem develops.  There are ways around the estrogen in meat like buying organic meat (expensive)  but there are other means of protein than soy products. Things like any type of bean and certain greens.. And fish is wonderful for your health.  I understand some go vegan for the health reasons, I personally believe that everything is made for a reason and we should not eliminate an entire food group.  I personally limit red meats to about 1x a month and buy the "green" purdue chicken does not have hormones.  wild salmon has no hormones or additives.  I would at this point in time believe anything done to the extreme is likely to be harmful in the long run.

The soybeans an its products contain many phytochemicals including isoflavones. Some of these are estrogenic and some are anti estrogenic. So all  is misconception without any scientific prove. Although researchers are still working on these misconceptions but have not find any clue against the soy products. For more details, visit Soy products.
