Can I Lay A Floor On Top Of Tiles?

Answer Question

The only type of floor that I'm aware of that you can lay on top of tiles is the laminate plank types such as Pergo. But, the tiles will have to be level and solid. If the laminate does not come with the foam backing already attached, then you'll need to purchase it separately in rolls.

You don't say what type of flooring you want to lay on top of the tiles, but recommend that you remove the tiles and lay the new flooring directly to the sub-floor.
It will be more stable and you will not have to worry about old tiles popping up underneath your new floor over time.
You will also want to make sure that your sub-floor is level.
It is more work, but well worth the effort.
You can rent an electric hammer chisel to remove the old tiles with.
