Yes. I believe he was taken as a slave from whales or something to ireland. I'm not sure of the story exactly, but he is a real person!

Yes St. Patrick was a real person, he is the Patron St. Of Ireland, like the Patron St. Of Scotland is St. Andrew, the Scotch flag is called the St. Andrews Cross, named after St. Andrew.
