What Motivated Fashions In The 60's?

    Fashion back in the sixties essentially belonged to London, England. It was the Brits who set standards which fashion all over followed. It was ground-breaking and creative, at the same time bold and brash. The rage was the effervescent mini skirt. Trousers for women slowly gained acceptance.

    The fashion revolution was effectively youth oriented in addition to being youth driven. "Anything goes" was their mantra. Boutique clothing stores was hot spots. Colour implied bright, bold colours which frequently had geometric patterns. Pop Art was also seen to infiltrate fashion.

    The 60's mandates mention of Mary Quant OBE FCSD, a well known English fashion designer. She is one of several assorted designers who claimed credit for designing the miniskirt as well as hot pants.
