Religion, meditation, yoga, chanting and a whole host of other techniques are practised throughout the world as a way of achieving inner peace. There is no absolute 'best' way to achieve it, it will depend upon you as an individual, your belief system and what you want from life.
This is why there are so many ways that you can try to find inner peace.
You may find it helpful to try going to a church, mosque or synagogue or just reading up about a religion which interests you and then trying it. Some people feel that Buddhism is a very good way to achieve inner peace so it may be worth reading up on this religion, at least initially.
Try talking to people who you think have found inner peace and find out how they achieved it. Life can sometimes be difficult and quite challenging, but we all need to learn to value it for what it is, the gift of life.

I wonder if anyone knows the best way. There are many ways, if we are to believe all the hype. I believe that having a 'relationship with my creator is essential. Self acceptance and self love, is important, but I also think Buddha had it right when he discovered that it is our expectations that make us miserable. When we have unfulfilled expectations, our peace is disturbed. Learning to accept, what is, and being o.k. With that, through Faith, is the key. I can not change anyone but myself. Accepting people as they are, situations, life,etc...brings me an extra peace. When I accept, I am not disappointed, hurt, or angry, when things do not go my way.

Inner peace is something very few people seem to be able to achieve.
Inner peace is more easily achieved if things in your life are settled and you are happy with youself, your family, your work and other aspects of your life.
If things are wrong and 'off balance' inner peace is very difficult to feel.
You can work towards looking at ways in which you can alter your life. This isn't always easy for us and some aspects of our lives sometimes seem to governed by things out of our control.
If we live in an environment which we dislike it's not always possible to move so try to make the most of what is good around us.
It's good to be happy with what you have and crave little. Most people seem to want more than they need and this can lead to discontenment.
We live in an extremely materialistic society but we don't have to join the crowd. Church and religion can indeed help but taking stock of the good, positive things in your life and not craving for the unobtainable can also help.
Most of us have far more than we need and would be happier if we didn't feel the need to desire more and be at peace with ourselves.

Sometimes it is difficult to find inner peace because there is so much disturbing your outer self and things are making you angry so my advice is, whenever you want to give someone a piece of your mind, give them a piece of your heart instead. It will get rid of your anger and it will also help them instead of offending them. This should make you feel peaceful. If you have religion, it also helps to pray every day.

I believe inner peace comes from being happy with what you are doing / what you have, rather than constantly desiring what you don't have (or what others have). i.e. it is important to live in the present and enjoy it. This is at the centre of Buddhist philosophy, but is also common sense when you think about it. It is wanting / desiring that often makes us angry or unhappy.
