Children are innocent enough to understand the realities and practices of life. At early stages they don't know the importance of rules and regulations, customs, traditions as well as relations. Your question that how to train children that they realize the importance of relations can be explained in this way.
It is the duty of the parents to introduce children all the relations concerned to them. They should be told time to time who are their grand parents, uncles, aunts, brothers, sisters and cousins. No doubt with the passage of time they will start recognizing all these relations but in the initial stages parents introduce them to the children and also advise and train them how to treat all these relations individually.
Parents should teach them how to deal with elders and maintain their respect and other relations in the same way. If the parents go on training the children from the very beginning and make them realize importance of all those relations, I am very much sure that children will be able to deal all these relations in a nice manner.
