A cable - not a chain- with a loop at each end. Run it around the frame bar that the seat stem comes from, thru the back wheel and around a stationary object, secure with padlock. If no object is available, all you can do the first two steps. If your bike is to be stolen it will have to be carried away. Carry your bike 20 feet and you'll see that it isn't that easy. Also leave an identifying number etched in the frame so you can identify if stolen and recovered. Or you can always shoot the bastard that trying to steal it.
