How Do I Do This Chemistry Equation?

A reaction requires 21.5g of CHCl3 (little three at the bottom). No balance is available, so it will have to be measured by volume. How many mL of CHCl3 (little three at the bottom of compound) need to be taken? ***Density of CHCl3 is 1.484 g/mL***

    (21.5 g)/(1.484 g/ml) = (21.5/1.484) ml ≈ 14.49 ml

    I like to keep the units with the numbers. If I'm doing the right things with the numbers, then the units work out right.

    g/(g/ml) = g*(ml/g) = ml*(g/g) = ml

    Above is correct but this isn't a reaction, it is just conversion of the weight of a liquid into it's volume.

    You are correct--no reaction is involved. This is a calculation of what volume of liquid of a certain density is required in order to obtain a given weight of that liquid. No gas is involved in this question, either, as the boiling point of chloroform is >60ºC.
