Can I Appeal A Decision From The Sheriff's Department?

The sheriff's department rejected my job application due to a former employer reporting, I was fired for employment misconduct. My former wife which I was separeting at the moment and worked at the same place accused me of taking hospital property, and brought a camera that supposedly belonged to the place where we worked, and said it was found in my possession even though we were not living together, and that camera never was found on my possession. How can I appeal this?

First of all you must rectify the situation w/ previous employer...then re-apply for the job explaining that previous employer had rec'd unviable & unverifiable info.♥
