What Does The Shield Mean?

    A shield is basically a defensive machine, meant to catch attacks. The term frequently refers to a piece of equipment that is held in the hand, as contrasting to armour or a bullet confirmation vest.

    One of the very well known and ancient from was the shield that was used as a protection in order to block anyone attacking you from the front by any kind of hand weapons, like swords, axes and maces, and missiles, like spears and arrows. The most common preparation of a shield was made out of wood or animal hide construction, which were also sometimes made out of metal. The size and weight of every shield varied a lot.  Most of the time heavy troops had really heavy shield that could almost protect their entire body.
