Changed Thermostat And Checked The Cooling Fans. Drained And Refilled The Coolant System Installed New Radiator Cap. The Cooling Fans Do Come On With Or Without The Climate Control Running. I Read That Gen 3 Seldom Have Water Pump Failures.any Idea?
As you have not stated what the problem is with your vehicle, I am assuming that you want to know if your water pump has failed.
If, you are asking about water pump failure, then, with the engine COLD, take off the radiator cap and start the engine. If the water pump is working, you will see the coolant moving/flowing, inside the radiator, once the engine warms up. Turn off the A/C before you do this.
I guess I'm answering my own question. Drain the radiator at the lowest point evacuate all the antifreeze and and refill as the duratec ford family of engines are bad about air locks. I did this refilled the radiator via the radiator reservoir while pumping both upper and lower radiator hose. Topped off fluid and preformed this task several times via cool down and restart the engine. It worked
