    An Email address works much the same as an address that you have on your street. If you receiver regular mail form the Post office , it consists of your name and your street address. An email address consists of your name and your address on the Internet, and is generally looks like this :

    Login Name@ servicename.mailservername.domain.
    .edu   = educational organization
    .com  = a commercial organization.
    .pk    = Pakistan
    .fr     = France
    .net   = network
    .org  = organization.

    The important thing is to ensure is that you type it absolutely correctly if you use it.
    Even one incorrect letter will make your email return, without reaching the destination. Your Postman may still be able to deliver a letter to you if there's a typo in the street name , but computer cannot.When someone sends Email to your  email address it gets sent to your Internet account, and is stored in your Email "mailbox" until you login and read it.

      An email address is where electronic mails are sent and received.  It is a combination of username, the @ symbol, and domain (example LDoe@yahoo.com).

        E-mail is a short term for electronic mail. It is the powerful Internet and inter-office communication tool available on the Internet. E-mail allows you to send and receive text messages and files to and from anyone in the world who is connected to the Internet with an E-mail system.  All of the major on-line services and Internet Service Providers (ISPs) are providing E-mail services to their clients.  Some companies and organizations may have an internal E-mail system.  In an internal E-mail system, E-mail messages cannot be sent to or received from the outside.  Staff of the organization or members can only E-mail each other.

        There are two major protocols using for sending and receiving e-mails.
        SMTP ( Simple mail transfer protocol) used for sending e-mails
        POP3 (Post office protocol) used for receiving e-mails.

        E-mail addresses consist of two portions, the Username, and the Domain Name.  The syntax of an E-mail address is UserName@DomainName like (abc@abc.com), @ symbol separates the Username from the Domain name.  The Username portion of an address is the sign-on name that a user either selects or is assigned when signing up with an on-line access provider.  If you are the owner of the domain, the Usernames are POP E-mail accounts setup by e-mail client. Yahoo, MSN, G-mail and lot many others are providing web based e-mail accounts.
