    Trenton city is the capital of New Jersey, United States. The city, Trenton is situated on the Delaware River. Trenton is an old city and it has some importance from a historical point of view. The city was settled by English Quakers in the year of 1679 and it was integrated in the year of 1745.  

    The famous American leader George Washington led his army across the ice-choked Delaware River in 25th December, 1776. He was on the way to attack Hessian troops who were quartered at Trenton.

    Trenton was the temporary capital of the country in the year of 1784 and 1799. It was also known as the state capital in the year of 1790.

    It is an industrial city as well as one of the famous industrial cities of United States. After the works were completed for canal and railways in the year 1830, the completion spurred Trenton's industrial developments and caused its development as an industrial city. The population of Trenton as per the reports of 2000 is 85,403.
