Do Energy Drinks Give You Energy?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

This one takes a look at the ingredients of these energy drinks which are supposed to increase your performance, concentration, reaction, speed, vigilance, emotional status and metabolism; but the scariest fact about these drinks is that no one, and absolutely no one to date, really knows about the specific effects the intake of these drinks can cause to the human body.

A news story "Energy drinks stir health debate" looks at both side of the debate about energy drinks being hazardous or not. According to this story consumption of energy drinks must be accompanied by an intake of sufficient water to balance the amount of fluids in the body. But many experts claim that the young people already consume an unhealthy amount of caffeine and don't need yet another beverage on the list.

The fact is that energy drinks are a quick solution to staying awake and alert. Hence, they are not different from tea or coffee. In fact, experts quoted that energy drinks are loads of caffeine mixed with sugar. Their only appeal lies in the way they are marketed. While the advertisers will tell you that there is nothing wrong with the products, energy drinks have become a cause for concern. Energy drinks hazards are mainly a concern because many people do not drink only one drink every now and then but instead make them a regular part of their diet.

I know of an Energy Drink that has very little Caffeine or sugar and some of the flavors have no caffeine. All the energy is from the vitamin B12.
