I am personally reading Journeys out of the body by Robert Monroe. I've read "Out of Body Experiences: How to have them and what to expect" (forgot the author). There are many great books on Amazon that you can buy on the subject. Simply read the reviews to see what each book has to offer. I advise this because there are MANY things to know before you Astrally project. It is a life-changing experience, and some people say that you see things based on beliefs in one of the places you can go. For example, I was able to close my eyes and induce vibrations & a ball of lightening that was zapping me into what might've been this astral plane. I was frightened by what I might've seen there (I grew up Christian and was afraid to see something like Hell, which people have reported seeing), so I stopped it. In short, I now need to focus on overcoming fears of my past beliefs before I can successfully continue the other exercises. So I am now reading a book to familiarize me with the experience (which my current book is famous for). Please be careful and good luck = )

Astral projection is when one puts themselves in a very deep trance-like state by long hours of meditation. The negative side of it all is that one can possibly "not return" to a state of normal consciousness, if certain conditions or disruptions exist during this state. Many people do not know this.
