Well an IQ score is determined after from a set of standardized tests based on intelligence. Intelligence tests come in a number of different forms. Nearly all tests yield both an overall score as well as an individual score.
In spite of the various patterns the main aim of an IQ test is to determine the general intelligence level. An IQ test is also associated with job performance, socioeconomic advancement along with "social pathologies". The initial modern intelligence test was designed by French psychologist Alfred Binet in the year 1905.
Binet's main aim was to recognize students who required particular help in coping with the school curriculum. A better version of the earlier IQ test was released in the year 1916 by Lewis M. Terman.
