The name "that dog." was taken by Los Angeles-based rock band. While it formed in the year 1991, it finally dissolved in the year 1997. It had Anna Waronker as the lead vocalist and guitarist. There was Rachel Haden playing bass guitar while Petra Haden, her sister, was on violin. Finally Tony Maxwell was the group's drummer.

Anna is Lenny Waronker the record industry mogul's daughter while Rachel and Petra are the daughters of jazz bassist Charlie Haden.

Their albums are that dog (released in the year 1994), followed by Totally Crushed Out! (in the year 1995) and finally Retreat From The Sun (in the year 1997). The group was known for punk power-pop songs bursting with hooks and various layered vocal harmonies.
