What Does Larceny Mean?

    In the United States of America the term Larceny is a known as a Common Law Crime which involves Stealing. Under the common law of the United States Larceny is also known as the trespassory and asporation of some one else's personal property, Larceny is the intent to deprive some one else of him or her property for ever. In the English Law this offence has been codified as the 'Larceny Act of 1916'. However later it was converted into theft by re instated act of 'Theft Act of 1968'.

    Trespassing the limits of some one else's private property or the violation of the right of some one else's possession done before the passing of the act is considered as negate. Even if the previous owner did not have possession of the property he would still have constructive possession.
