After the World War II was over the United Nations gave some piece of the land to the Jewish people of the world so that they could live together in peace n harmony. This land, Israel, includes holy places which are worshipped by the Jewish religion and is surrounded by Muslim countries. At the time when the United Nations gave the land to the Jewish people, Palestinians Muslims lived on that land at that very time.
The land given to the Jewish people, or the land won by them during the wars against the Arab states, were also holy for Muslims. "East Jerusalem" is a portion of land of Jerusalem controlled by Israel, were also very important to the Muslims. For some religious reason, Palestinian Muslim believed that they should gain control over the East Jerusalem as a part of any lasting peace settlement.
Further more; Palestinians point of view is that they are living in a nation occupied, by invaders such as the Israelis have placed them against their own will and under military rule. In order to fight back, Palestinians have built a terrorist network so that they can attack innocent Israeli civilians. On the other hand, the Israelis feel that they must continue to control Palestinians with forces of military in order to protect themselves against the terrorist attacks.

The Middle-East conflict is not something new that one can understand by looking at the TV when the news is coming up or by reading the newspaper headlines or the top ten lines in it. This conflict has been running in the minds and wills of the people there since the end of the Second World War. When the war ended the victorious powers (USA, UK) decided that the Jews needed a place they could call home.
To find out the information that one would need for basic knowledge, look at an encyclopedia and the web, where information flows freely. The web would be a great starting place where information for all ages is present. Another place would be the library. Books were written on all the conflicts that have taken place where one author leads to one conclusion and another leads to another conclusion. Having discussions would be beneficial. Also read about the 6 day war as well as Egyptian President Sadat's biography.
Some books that might be interesting to read would be: Arab and Jew: Wounded Spirits in a Promised Land, by David Shipler (1987). A History of the Arab Peoples, by Albert Hourani (1992). The Middle East, by Bernard Lewis (1997). Palestine and the Arab-Israeli Conflict, by Charles Smith (2001). Unholy Wars, by John Cooley (2000).

This is not a question that you should be asking 'blurtit'. Instead you could have asked blurtit to give you information about the Middle East conflict. You could always refer to websites of news channels such as CNN or BBC. They have search engines on all their official websites and you could use the help of that.
They are the best places to search at as they are updated everyday. Then you could even go over to all the popular search engines like Google or Yahoo and you will get a list of websites which you could refer to and get all the information that you need.
You could even visit libraries and refer to books and magazines that have the information. Your librarian will help you find the information that you need. Whatever you do, do not refer to books on religion as they are a little biased towards other religions and sects and the fact that this conflict is based on religion and oil you don't want biased information.
