I Am 53 Years Old And Want To Do Something More To Earn Some More Money. What Can I Do?

Answer Question

There are many options for someone to earn extra money. Consider what jobs you have worked in the past. Perhaps you have some experience that would put you in good stead to get a job in that field.

Also, what do you most enjoy doing? It could be a lucrative opportunity. For instance, if you like painting watercolours, you could start to sell them at art fairs or online. You could teach watercolour painting at a local art centre.

You said you want to do 'something more' so I presume that you already have one income. A part-time job is a great way to supplement your income. Many jobs offer evening hours. For example, working in a mail room or as a package loader could let you work hours that are outside your other area of work. If you already have one main job, it may give you some flexibility in terms of the part-time job you accept. Because it won't be your main source of income, you can take on a wider variety of part-time work.

It is more difficult in our fifties to start out on new ventures but it can be done.
If you have any skills to sell what about approaching local educational establishments to see if they have an hourly paid lecturer posts you could apply for? These tend to be quite well paid.
Have you thought about starting  a small business? This can be hard work and it's a gamble whether or not you make much extra money. Do you have a partner who would help you in any ventures?
Depending on what you already do have you thought about part time work in a supermarket? They often take on evening staff. Bar work might be an option or something in catering or hotels.
Have you thought about working for a website such as Blurt It?
