It is not known for sure, but one of the fattest people in the world was a woman by the name of Carol Yager. Carol Yager was born in 1960 and lived until 1994. She died at thirty four years old. At one point in her life she weighed more than 1600 pounds and was 5 foot 7 inches tall. She had been overweight all of her life. Even as a young girl, she was very obese.
She was once admitted into the hospital in 1993 for symptoms related to celluitis. While in the hospital, she was put onto a diet of 1200 calories. During this time, she lost more than five hundred pounds. However, it was soon discovered that these pounds were from fluid loss and when she was discharged from the hospital, she regained all of the weight that she had lost.
She got a lot of media exposure while she was alive and she died in 1994 of kidney failure.
