    The word wager simply means a gamble. It is a kind of a bet placed by a bettor on his own free will on an event that would take place in the near future. A better may wager upon a horse race, a sporting event, in a casino and more. There is a possibility of a risk involved. The maximum amount of money speculated by people are in casinos. A wager does not always involve money but any object that has a worth. A wager may also be set casually, which means no money or kind is involved such as a wager between friends. Lotteries are a type of wager. Some countries like Australia allow legal gambling on sporting events, while it is illegal in other countries.
