Can You Deposit Checks In A Joint Account After Death?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Bank staff get a bit hinky when dead people try to make deposits!

Seriously though, IIRC, once the bank is informed of the death of one of the account holders, the account is frozen pending probate, after which the account is closed and a new account must be opened. Not sure if this works in other countries though, I'm in the UK.
