In a heavy user of heroin, it takes longer than the average 3 days to fully clear the system. I used to use heavily and stopped for 5 days and my urine was still dirty after 5 days of being clean.. My levels were still pretty high too. I've heard in heavy users heroin normally stays in the system for up to 7 days.

Its about 3-4 days on a non frequent user a heavy user  i dont really know probably a little longer then 4 days

Heroin can stay in your system from 2-7 days for a heavy user. Maybe longer if you're getting blood taken. I would suggest to give yourself 2 weeks just to make sure if you're a heavier person. And Tatay101, for the information, you CANNOT die from Heroin withdrawal. You might feel like you're dying but you can't. Alcohol and Benzodiazepine's (Valium, Xanax, etc...) you can die from. I was a very heavy user and detoxed with NO help and didn't die. I've also been through rehab and was told the same thing. Alcohol and Benzodiazepine's you can die from, not Opiates. I'm sure that if you have some sort of heart condition or other health problems, the stress from the withdrawals could cause a heart attack or something and then you can die but not from withdrawal. When going through withdrawals you are going to hurt all over. But please anyone that reads this. I am not a doctor and just because I say you can't die from withdrawal doesn't mean this is a safe drug. I think this is the worst drug out of them all. Especially it you’re using through IV. If you do try to withdrawal without help, please be very careful if you have any health conditions besides your addiction. Find a NA meeting and at least just listen.
