Quite frankly, snoring can be an indicator of a more serious problem known as sleep apnea.  People who are sometimes at risk for sleep apnea are those people who are overweight.  However, there are also people who are not overweight who also have this disorder for other reasons that I will not touch upon here.

Other indicators of sleep apnea may be, waking up at all hours of the night after initially falling asleep.  Lack of energy during waking hours, and sometimes having difficulty staying awake during daylight hours.

I would encourage you to look at the research on the subject which is easily accessible on the Internet.  I would also encourage you to assist your father to seek medical advise if you believe he fits within the profiles described in the online medical information.

    Good luck.

According to the latest research about snoring, it is said to be normal. It is caused by deep sleep or certain specific posture of your body while sleeping. I think you should take it normal and sleep in some other room.
