Jimmy Carr is a UK comedian who calls him self a 'soft southener' and 'a ponce' due to his well spoken manner. Carr shot to fame after appearing on the Royal Variety Performance a number of years ago. Since then he has done a number of tours, hosted gameshows, tv polls and voice overs.
Jimmy Carr is an excellent live performer. Most recently he played a sell out performance in the Glasgow Clyde Auditorium as part of the Magners Glasgow Comedy Festival.
The great thing about Jimmy Carr is his 'banter' with the audience. He welcomes (and even invites) a bit of audience participation (or sometimes heckling. The man isn't easily offended and he can give twice as good as he gets.
He favours quick jokes rather than drawn out stories which keeps the audience drawn in - and also allows for a good range of topics and 'styles' of humour.
Jimmy Carr is also known for using mixed media in his performances including short film skits.
