Thermostats on most cars are located at the end of the upper radiator hose, going to the engine.
You would have to take off the hose at the engine, to replace it.
Do NOT do this when the engine is hot.
If you replace the thermostat, be sure to replace the gasket or rubber O ring as well.
Reverse the process, start the engine, fill it with either orange or green anti-freeze.
This is important. Start the engine with the radiator cap OFF, wait til the fluid level drops down. This will tell you that the thermostat is working.
If it is working properly, then you will have to add more coolant. Then tighten the radiator cap and your done.
