When the reading of the holy Guru Granth Sahib  had been taken up, then the holy Hukam is taken. A name starting with the first letter of the Shabad of that Hukam should be proposed by the Granthi. The boy's name  must have suffix "Singh" and girl's, suffix "Kaur". The friends and family attend the name ceremony.
