What Is Full Name Of Dr. A. P. J. Abddul Kalam?

The full name of the Indian president is Dr. Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam.

He was born 75 years ago at Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu and specialised in Aeronautical Engineering after graduating from university and joined Madras Institute of Technology. While there he became Project Director to develop India's first indigenous Satellite Launch Vehicle (SLV-III). This project successfully transported the Rohini satellite into near earth orbit in July 1980.

He later went on to become a senior scientist and civil servant with the Indian Defence Department before entering politics. Dr Kalam has also penned four books and been the recipient of many honorary degrees from universities all around the world. He became the 11th Indian President in July 25, 2002.

He is lauded both as a scientist and politician, and widely regarded as India's Missile Man for his work in developing weapons.
