Is It Autism? My Son Has Twins On His T-ball Team Who Don't Listen To The Coach. The Mom/dad Does Not Speak To Them About Their Behaviors. Don't Know Whether To Be Empathetic Or Frustrated.

They disregard anyone speaking to them and imitate what has been said by mouthing or appear to not have heard at all. When they are on the field they lay down or walk off the field and go outside the fence to walk around. Everytime they hit the ball, they run on the white line kicking it to stir up the dust making it disappear going to 1st and home. All this happens regularly no matter what method is used with them. The parents do nothing to help. Is is simply defiance or more? CONCERNED PARENT

Seems to me that the little ones are up to no good. They are just mischievous by nature. Some kids tend  to be like that and the  behavior they're exhibiting is  something common in many twins. They seem to be attached to each  other disregarding the rest. Sometimes twins tend to get attached to each other more and they don`t make other friends. It is considered a negative trait and should never be encouraged. Its best that  they are separated and encouraged to fraternize with other people than just remaining self-absorbed with each other. They have synchronized themselves with each other and its generally fun for them to keep everyone else around them on their toes.

Actually, they don't pay much attention to each other during games.  Really they don't intereact with each other at all unless it is to hit the other's hat off and laugh or push.  They don't really use words with each other.  However, they can speak and do talk but only when frustrated and they say the same thing over and over.  "I wanted to be pitcher."  Only one goes off the field.  But they both have a melt-down if they don't get the position they want to play.  So maybe they are feeding off each other but I haven't seen either one exhibit characteristically normal behavior.
