What Does Kilter Mean?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The word Kilter is most accurately defined as in working condition. For instance 'That machine is in good kilter' or 'His telephone is temporarily out of kilter'.

In addition the out of kilter algorithm is applicable to network flows, especially when the balance equations hold on to all the iteration, but duality conditions and bounds may be violated. The dual prices frequently referred to as potentials in this case are modified along with all the flows in order to draw closer to both the dual and primal feasibility.

Also in the fictitious children's novel entitled The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus there is a character Kilter the Pixie. It was published in 1902 written by L. Frank Baum. Mary Cowles Clark handled the illustrations. Kilter was one of Santa's deputies along with Peter the Knook, Wisk the Fairy, and Nuter the Ryl.
