Summer has always been hot in Delhi. Here I would write experience of a day in Delhi in hot summer. The incarnation of wind into storm, into the least possible form, is the fiercest picture of, mostly, a life-giving element; we may interpret this storm in so many ways.  Taken into the social, cultural and political context, the storm gives multi-dimensional meanings.

The sparrow his in the henna tree, holding on to the twigs; and a crow perched on the date palm holding a leaf with its talons for all it was worth, bending low. The sand had some to centre of the sky and, like locusts when they espy a patch of green, swooped down upon the earth and filled the rooms, and blinded the eyed. The wind swished a lashed the henna tree, and bent the date palm low down over the roof. The sun his face, and light began to fail. It became darker and darker as he sand spread over the. And the atmosphere became oppressive and suffocation.

The summer of 1918 was more terrible than the summers of the previous ears. The sky was of a coppery hue throughout the day, and at night the stars were hidden behind the sand which rained down from the sky, and 'Loo' did not stop. It howled more fiercely than before as City Walls had been demolished and the wind could now blow free from the mountainous wastes outside the city. It howled through the empty streets and in then arrow by-lanes and bazaars.
