      Hi,
Yam is fibrous but has a lot of sugar too. Sugar is also a contributing element for clogs (artery, colon,...) Celery has a lot of fiber and less sugar.

Yams contains about 20% of your daily allowance of fiber.  Not only is it fantastic for you because of the high fiber, it has high amounts of B6, Potassium, and Vitamin C.  The darker the orange in a yam the more Beta Carotene (Vit A) it has, which makes it good for your eyes.  The high fiber in yams also helps you lose weight.  One yam is low in calories (about 200 calories per yam, minus the butter), and since it's so high in fiber it can be a great addition to a weight loss diet.
