    Galileo an Italian physicist, mathematician, astronomer, and philosopher. He played a major role in the scientific revolution. His key invention was the telescope, But he is also known for first systematic study of uniformly accelerated motion, his astronomical observations which  include the discovery of the four largest satellites of Jupiter, named the Galilean moons in his honour, and the observation and analysis of sunspots. He is also known for his improvements to the design of the compass.
