WHAT To Write To A Man Who Lost His Wife?

If this is a very recent loss you should send a sympathy card, unless you have already. If not I would send one with a very brief note..this note should state that you are very sorry for his loss. You briefly state that if ever he needs someone to talk to or just listen than you are there. You can add that you will be in touch also.  Most people say this but don't do it. If that is your intention than write it. After a few days to a week, touch base and ask if he needs anything. Again, just let him know you are a friend. When one loses a life partner there is not much more than "I'm sorry" to say. There are no words.  If you have already sent a card you can send a note to follow that up with a short message. Just checking in to see how you are doing. Again, a phone call after this would be good. That way they know who their true friends are.
