    Khan is a popular surname as well as a title given to a ruler in Turkish and Mongolian. As a name it has one variant, which is Khanh. It has its roots Turkish and Arabic, and it means "prince".

    Khan was also the name of a British band in the 70s that were into progressive rock.
    Khan Noonien Singh was the name of the villain who featured in episode number 22 of Star Trek: The Original Series as well as Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, a movie. Khan was also the title of a 1975 Detective series on television.

    It is interesting to note that in Pakistan, Khan is most widespread surname. It is also one of the most common surnames in India.
