How Does Mp4 Work?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

MP4 is a container-like format for a wide range of multimedia items like audio, video, images and subtitles. Its complete name is MPEG 4 which means Motion Pictures Experts group and sets standards for quality digital audio and video. It uses the same technology as the Apple Quick Time player. The MP4 has mainly been designed for "streaming" data. Streaming in simple terms means transmitting data that can be viewed or heard on another device which is on the receiving end. The receiving device is your computer and the streaming device is the internet. MPEG 4 is expandable that is, new technologies will be included as they are developed. It is also adaptable to many transmission rates which makes it perfect for any type of streaming from Ethernet or dial-up modems.
