Do some research on the things he tells you, if this isn't enough, do a background check. I also met someone online from a different state, we chatted and exchanged photo's, email, & phone numbers. He is a very sexual man, and also a very real man who knows what he wants. If he is willing to spend the money for you to go to him, put you up in a hotel, you will be in a public place, and as long as several close people know how to get ahold of you and him, and he knows this, you should be OK. Or at least it was for me. You never know about the weirdos out there, and there are lots of them. I got lucky. But, you never know if you don't take a chance, and as long as you take measures to protect yourself, what could it hurt? I am now trying to find employment close to the city he lives in and am prepared to move 1500 miles just to be closer to him. Not ready to move in together, but really want to spend more time together. I have known others personally that have had wonderful luck from online dating, others, well, the 52" plasma didn't fare so well. You just never know though until you try. Good Luck, & make sure you do a back ground check & your closest friends know where you are, where you will be staying (if you travel to him), have his contact info, & make sure they promise to call you often. If he is lagit, he won't mind at all.
