It is! There can be different family traits from one family or another. You have a tree so to speak with all the genes coming and going from one generation to another.
In one generation, you might have an Aunt that had red hair, and green eyes, or a grandparent that had blond hair and brown or blue eyes. There have been instances where there was a black or white relative in a family of the opposite color, and 1,2 or even 3 generations later, there could be a child that has this same trait as long as there is some blood link to this time of the family.
