There are some ways that are considered as different from other states when it comes to the annulment of marriage. Usually, it is fraud that is the prime reason for the annulment in that particular state and fraud includes the deception of plaintiff by the person who is defendant and the intention behind the act is to induce the plaintiff for marriage.
       
To get the annulment, the misrepresentation should be substantial and the consent of the marriage by the plaintiff should be predicated to the statement of the defendant. There are some other conditions also like the perpetration of fraud and also the discovery of fraud should be proven by the corroboration of a witness or some other proof that is from an external source. There is a difference in time limit also and in the New York state it takes three years instead of one year; the three year duration starts from the date when the fraud was found out.
