Being coeliac is not really a big problem. If you are allergic to gluten (which is different to being allergic to wheat alone) you will find that quite a large number of products contain something that you can't eat. On the whole, with the exception of breads, pastas and cakes, these foods are factory processed packaged foods.
There are a lot of products available which are gluten free - and all foods should have a section dedicated to allergies. A lot of sauces etc now have "suitable" or "not suitable for a gluten free diet" on the label.
Recently I have seen gluten free white and brown bread, baguettes, hot cross buns, pizza bases, biscuits, brownies and muffins all for sale. Although these tend to be smaller in size than what you are used to and have a different texture they are really quite pleasant - especially toasted.
You will find special gluten free sections now in many supermarkets.
You can also buy gluten free flour mixes to bake your own bread and cakes.
