Before scientists collectively decided the qualifications of a planet, meaning how large a solid body has to be to be considered a planet, was changed there were nine: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Saturn, Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. Now that things have changed Pluto is no longer considered a planet. It has been deemed too small by new standards. There are only eight planets now, Pluto is now known as a dwarf planet. Two other celestial bodies that fall under this new category are Ceres and Eris.

All the observations have been made and it has been decided not to consider PLUTO as a planet. Now there are eight planets
i.e Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus Neptune. But further explorations have come up with new results and two more planets have been discovered. Though researches are still going on the two planets i.e Sedna And Titan are not been involved in the planets of our Solar system.

It is quite simple, there are 7 planets in the solar system (you wouldn't have to be a rocket scienist to figure out that one).
