Ribonucleic acid or RNA is a type of molecule which consists of long chain of the nucleotides units. Nucleotide is one basic unit of RNA and it consists of one nitrogenous base, a ribose sugar and one phosphate. There are four types of Nitrogenous present in RNA include Adenine, Guanine, Cytosine and Uracil. In an RNA chain the nucleotides are arranged and form a single-stranded chain of RNA. Unlike DNA, RNA is single stranded and it has ribose sugar. RNA is transcribed from DNA and during the transcription process, RNA polymerases are also involved which act as the enzymes. Role of RNA is related with the protein synthesis and regulations of genes.
