How Do You Get Into Racing Horses?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Horse racing is one of the most lucrative sporting events where the jockeys are paid well, the horses cost a lot of money and the amount of money that is wagered, won and lost in gambling is another gold mine in itself.

If you are thinking of joining horse racing as a jockey then you have to be extremely light in weight. Jockeys are necessarily small in size and light in weight to prevent tiring the horse. You will have to join a riding school in this case to learn how to race a horse. If you wish to breed or own race horses you will need a lot of money. Saying race horses are not cheap is an understatement. Each horse can cost hundreds of thousands if not millions of pounds. They are kept in weather controlled environments in their stables and each has a team of men including vets, stable boys, cleaners etc.
