They say a 'picture is worth a thousand words'. Often, you'd keep on talking about a topic and would still be unable to make it effective as the audience seem to lose interest when the discourse seems to drag on endlessly. Visual aids compliment your presentations by helping you avoid lengthy ambiguous descriptions and provide objective symbolism to enhance your points. They also tend to appeal more towards our aesthetic sense, besides something entirely verbal does not imprint or register on our minds as we tend to focus on a practical working solution that is more pragmatic in practical solutions. That can only be achieved by using visual aids.

Simple, try to describe a scene in a movie to a friend...it's much easier for the brain to register with the assistance of a visual, I could tell you how the smoke doesn't rise cause it's so cold right now, but if you saw it, you would actually be able to see how cold it is, there is a photo on the cover of our Timmins Times that shows just how cold its been by the smoke staying still long enough to be photographed
