If its his friends you are worried about, then try and catch him alone. However if you don't feel even comfortable enough to talk to him maybe you should try and be friends and see where it goes from there.

 I think you should try to ignore what his friends if he likes you to hel tell them to shut up so don't even care come on there guys they have the brain of a pin head and there way less mature then we are at this age
ask a friend to ask him first possibly a friend that you know would not stab you in the back by going out with him instead get your bffl shel respect it and then just ask her to gently push it in a conversation and if he says no well you don't get as much embarrassed ask her to say do you like any of my friends over there and if he says no its his loss not yours and if he says yes ask him which one and remember if he doesn't say you his loss again but don't stop your friend just because you didn't get the guy doesn't mean your friend should have to suffer no so be happy and your young ((me to)) don't spend your time mopping around because this guy doesn't like you just carry on like it wasnt you your friend was on about and remember its his loss not yours !!!!!!!
