    The western division of Goths was known as Visigoths in the history of mankind. Once they were attached with the Ostrogoths who was known as Eastern Goths. In the time of the 4th century a part was divided from the Ostrogoths and later they was come to know as Visigoths. In the year of 376, the Visigoths was driven from the place of Dacia by the Huns. Then they crossed the Danube River and entered to the Roman Empire. The Visigoths was exploited by the Roman taxation. It made them to take into revolt against the Roman emperor.

    Then they raided the Balkan Province and in the battle of Adrianople in the year of 378, they defeated Valens and his army. They were settled in Moesia in the year of 382 by Theodosius I. Visigoths were converted to Arian Christianity and left Moesia under the leadership of Alaric and then invaded Greece and Italy in the year of 395.

    After sacking Rome in the year of 410, they were settled in the part of Southern Gaul and Spain in the year of 415. They left Spain and in a battle with Attila they lost their first king Theodosius I, in the year of 451. They were under Roman federates and under King Euric they declared their independence in the year of 475.

    Euric extended the Visigoth kingdom from the Lorie to the Pyreness and the lower Rhone including most of the Spain. In the year of 507, Franks defeated the Visigoths and captured most of their territory. In the year of 711, the Visigoth Dynasty was completely ruined by the Muslims.
