    Junk mail, as the name suggests, is the mail which is not required by the recipient and is sent by marketers or companies, forcing people to go through their mails. It is basically a division of spam in which the same message is sent to numerous readers through email. It is the unsolicited form of email which is sent by force, unnecessarily to many recipients.

    Another word for this is bulk mail and this is the reason why all mail servers provide the option to filter bulk or junk mail.

    Junk mail is usually some sort of advertisement or information that comes in to the mail box which is not required or demanded by the customers. It creates a great deal of anger and frustration amongst people as some times the junk mail does not get filter and ends up in the recipient's mail box.

    Usually these emails are of large sizes and can disrupt the user's mail box size and they stop receiving their own personal and professional mails. Many steps have been taken by authorities to control spam and junk mail but some how marketers and other companies such as donation organizations tend to find out ways to send these junk mails.
