HPV or human papillomavirus cause genital warts. There are more than 130 species of HPV and out of these more than 40 are STD. Out of these 14 are high risk which mean that these can cause cervical cancer in ladies. These are HPV 16,18, 31,33,35, 39,45,51, 52,56,58, 59,68 and HPV 69. If you are positive for high risk HPV then you should go for pap smear test after every 3-6 months in order to know any abnormal changes in cervix which can lead to cervical cancer.
